The National Gallery of Art offers everything you ever wanted to know about art and presents an incredible amount of it all in one place. The Gallery's numerous exhibits and attractions stretch from the Middle Ages all the way to today. Works by da Vinci, Rembrandt, Raphael and Titian, among others, are all here. The facility proudly exhibits over 3,000 paintings, 2,000 pieces of sculpture and over 100,000 prints, drawings and other interesting pieces. Also, don't forget to spend a little time in the Sculpture Garden that can be found at the corner of 7th and Madison.

The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts can be considered the headquarters of stage performances in Washington, or even the whole country for that matter! The entertainment facility is immense as it sprawls out over 17 acres, overlooks the Potomac River and features six theaters that are always staging various productions like plays, operas, ballets and lots more. There are tours of the facility itself, as well as several exhibits and even an excellent concession area.

Touted as America's First Museum of American Art, the Phillips Collection is a museum that not only presents an impressive collection of exhibits that feature impressionist, post-impressionist and contemporary American art, it also boasts a rather intimate charm. Residents of DC love hockey season, and with good reason. When the Washington Capitals hit the ice, the fans know they are in for a great display of speed and agility that is required to get that puck through the other team's goal. The professional sports team is a member of the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League. "The Caps," as they are affectionately known, won the 1998 Stanley Cup Finals and have captured six division titles. The 2009-10 Capitals continued that tradition by taking home the franchise's first-ever President's Trophy for the team with the most points at the end of the regular season.
