In 1988, a group of citizens who cared about preserving history started a project to restore the beautiful facades of old buildings in Guthrie. This project revitalized the city and created a thriving tourism industry that still benefits Guthrie today. As part of the project, the Logan County Historical Society brought back the long-forgotten trolley system, and the First Capital Trolley Co. was founded.
